UP & Away Gala

Our team at Big Picture Events set up our Big Picture Photobooth at the 10th Annual UP & Away Charity Gala at the BMO center in downtown Calgary. The Gala exceeded its goal target of $350 000 which goes towards education and the “Never Too Late” program which provides support for adults on their journey through school. This is just a small snippet of what this organization as a whole is about.

Our photobooth team was accompanied by our amazing partners: Videographer, Elton Murzello and photographer in training, Natalie Fajardo. The footage they gathered is amazing and we can’t wait to share it with you.

We showcased our royal blue sequin backdrop, we received nothing but compliments on the backdrop as its variation of blues sparkled in the light. Our online store featuring the very backdrops we use will be up and running soon so look out for our launch!

The theme of the event was catered to graduation, so we wanted to provide the guests with some fun props for them to use. We created custom signs, some of the words being “Adult Pants”, “#Goals”, “Hire Me”, and more! Another cool prop we created was a white board with the saying “Most Likely to Succeed” and a line for guests to write their name. We always love when clients throw themed events which allow our team to put on our creative hats and help assist in creating the mood.

A comment from one of the guests that stood out to me was “Wow its like a giant Iphone, so nice and easy to use” I thought about this and she’s totally right! It couldn’t be easier to share experiences with our photobooths. Once a snap (or 3) is taken our backside screen gives you the options to print or send via text or email. From there with a click of a button your content can be shared onto all social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat & Instagram.

A pleasant surprise during the event was meeting former Calgary Flames player Mike Commodore, a key player in the Calgary Flames 2004 Stanley Cup playoff run. Like many he opted for a serious, sophisticated picture as well as a prop-ridden goofy picture.

We at Big Picture Events want to thank everyone at Up & Away for having us and partaking in our photobooth fun and we look forward to next year!
